FUEL
When you board your houseboat it is fully fueled and ready to go. You pay for what you use at the end of your vacation. Your fuel charges will depend on the type of houseboat you are on, the amount of time you spend cruising and how you operate the boat. Remember – the lower the rpm the less your fuel charges will be. For budgeting purposes – average fuel consumption is approximately $125.00-$200.00 per day.
ENVIRONMENTAL FEE
There is a $30.00 plus tax Environmental Fee which is paid at the end of your vacation along with the fuel and propane. This fee covers Waste Management costs for septic pump out and garbage disposal.
INSURANCE
Bluewater carries an insurance policy covering the charter. Should damage be incurred you will be responsible for paying up to the first $4000.00(per claim) for any damage. This liability can be reduced to the first $2500.00(per claim) for any damage at a surcharge of $25.00/per day plus tax.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
Upon your arrival a security deposit is required. The amount of your security deposit will depend on which insurance option you choose. If you choose to reduce the deductible from $4000.00 down to $2500.00 for $25.00 per day then your security deposit will be $2500.00. If you choose to leave the insurance deductible at $4000.00 then your security deposit will be $4000.00. This deposit is refundable providing there are no outstanding charges such as:
- Lost or damaged inventory items
- Damage to propeller
- Damage to houseboat
- Excessively unclean boats
- Late return
- Violation of Houseboating Regulations
Visa/Mastercard/Amex debit or cash will be accepted for the security deposit.
PET FEE
We strongly advise against bringing pets onboard the houseboat. Small “non-shedding” dogs will be allowed subject to an extra fee of $50.00 plus taxes. No Cats allowed.
BOARDING OPTIONS
Boarding times are between 8:00 am – 11:00 am in Mid or High season and between 9:00 am – 11:00 am in Low season. Please advise the office if you will be arriving later than 11:00 am. CHECK OUT TIME for all seasons is anytime after 9:00 am but no later than 3:00 pm. Penalties are charged for late return and there is no refund for an early return of the houseboat.
PREBOARDING ***LIMITED AVAILABILITY SO BOOK EARLY***
For your convenience we offer a preboarding program for only $150.00 plus tax. This option allows you to board and sleep on your boat the evening prior to your scheduled departure. Boarding time for the preboarding option is after your boat has been fully serviced usually between 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in low season and between 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in mid or high season. This will give you and your crew the chance to complete the paper work and become familiar with your boat that evening so you can be off and cruising early the next morning.
Note that sometimes we are ready earlier than 6:00 pm so if you are in town check with us and see how things are going. We do not have an official “early departure” program however if we can get you loaded onto your boat, through your lessons and to the first beach before dark we are happy to do so but no guarantees. As with all things “rented” we never know what needs to be done to the boat once its returned and occasionally extra work is required.
